Some larger screens are coming to the market for Blackberry users. These new handsets are sporting 3.7 inches of digital real estate. This is one of the largest screens to be featured on a Blackberry smartphone. For comparison, an iPhone is measured at 3.5 inches. The biggest difference between the Monza and the Monaco is basically the buttons under the screen. The Monza has flush buttons while the Monaco has raised buttons. The other difference is that the 9860 is a GSM version while its sidekick, the  9850, is CDMA.

The screens are going to have good clarity. Blackberry is packing as much pixel power into the 3.7 inches as Samsung does in four inches of their displays. But the Blackberry is still using the older LCD material. Samsung uses Super AMOLED, which is brighter and uses less battery power. Otherwise, the 9860 and 9850 will have an optical trackpad under the screen, accelerometer and proximity sensor for turning the screen off while on a call.

The OS 7 mobile operating system is going to be implemented in the Blackberry 9860 and 9850. This is a new update of OS 6 and is expected to be a an interim platform until the QNX mobile operating system can be fully integrated into Blackberry's phones. QNX is the same software that runs the Blackberry Playbook and is powerful, fast and light. It is run in such places as nuclear power plants, cars, trains, and other places where reliability is essential . The OS 7 system carries with it a Webkit browser that supports Adobe flash files for rich web browsing and for such games as the popular "Farmville" from Facebook. The OS 7 system is unique in that the data for work and personal use is separated. This allows for more security in the enterprise setting. Work data can be "wiped" separately from personal data. This allows the 9860 and 9850 to still function as a usable smartphone for personal use. The name of this new feature is called "Blackberry Balance".

The Blackberry 9860 and 9850 are going to have fast processors. They will have 1.2 gigahertz of digital data flowing through their circuits at all times. These are dual core chips. The camera is rated for five megapixels of picture taking power. The only feature the camera does not seem to have is flash. The processor makes the camera strong enough to handle high definition videos in the lower format, 720p. No secondary camera is yet seen on these smartphones.

The battery is a new model with 1230 mAh of power, which is not going to break any records. The new style of battery is called "BlackBerry J-M1". Talk time will likely be the standard five to six hours. The 9860 is unoffically called the "Storm 3" while other sources say these smartphones are going to be called "Volt" Whichever name they are given for the market, they are expected to arrive next month, August. Verizon "Big Red" will be getting one of these handsets.
 

There is so much to say about the Samsung Galaxy S 2 that it needs its own book. This is one of those full featured smartphones that is bulging with potential. Do you need a fast processor ? The S 2 has a dual chip processor. How about a full featured camera ? This smartphone has it. The only thing missing is the manual keyboard, but with a screen this size, the virtual keyboard is a convenient replacement. For those who need the keyboard, rumors abound for the S 2 "Pro" model that does have a keyboard, but not yet released.

This smartphone is running android in the 2.3 Gingerbread version. This is the version Google empassionately revealed with NFC compatibility. NFC stands for ( Near Field Communication ) and requires a special chip inside a device to work. The Samsung Galaxy S 2 for Europe for sure has the chip. It is assumed this AT&T model has it also. The android version has a large app store to support it, but caution is needed when downloading apps. Researchers say that eight percent of android apps are leaking personal information. Otherwise, the Android version in the S 2 has a fast web browser that supports Adobe flash files for a rich internet surfing experience. Games are nearly on par with what Sony is doing with their Playstation phone, thanks to Samsung throwing in some extra software on the S 2.

The hardware set in the Samsung Galaxy S 2 is impressive. It has a dual core chip made by Samsung that runs at a respectable one gigahertz. The internal memory is set available in two sizes, 16 or 32 gigabytes. If that turns out to be too small, Samsung is throwing in a flash card for free. It is sized at eight gigabytes. The internal storage is accompanied by one gigabyte of RAM, which provides for a snappy performing navigation of the smartphone.

Wireless is up to snuff with all modes of Wi-Fi included. The Samsung Galaxy S 2 can even use the old "A" mode of Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is modernized for the S 2 and comes in the latest version, 3.0. The smartphone can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot and DLNA is supported for sending a multimedia signal to nearby monitors or televisions. The 3G networks are supported, but not 4G. For those who like local programming, Samsung threw in a FM radio with RDS.

The super bright Super AMOLED screen is the crowning touch to this great smartphone. It is packed tight with features. The brightness and clearness of the display is top notch. The resolution is set at 800 by 480 pixels of power for the large 4.3 inch screen. The battery is slightly larger than others and has 1650 mAh to offer. This gives the S 2 a possible eight hours and 40 minutes of talk time. No price is yet offered on the Samsung Galaxy S 2.

It also has a mobile WiFi hotspot mode, allowing you to connect from anywhere. The front and rear cameras allow you to record high resolution video but mostly, this phone is used for surfing the Internet and talking. The 8MP camera located on the back can stream flawless videos and is definitely capable of even sending these videos to your friends. Many users have complained about the battery life but the fact that it is light and can be carried anywhere, makes it great for business owners. It’s also faster than most smartphones on the market, making it efficient enough to use in your research or even just for fun.

The camera is our favorite feature and it’s capable of shooting a 1080p HD video. You can also use Bluetooth with this phone.

This smartphone weighs in at exactly 5 ounces, being incredibly light but still strong enough to support itself. It may have a large 4-inch display screen, but it still won’t feel bulky in your hand or even in the pocket. Each corner is rounded, giving it great aesthetics. Its back cover actually is covered in copper finish to make this smartphone look even more elegant. You can also add any earphones or headseat, as long as they support the 3.5mm headphone jack. As for application access, opening and closing is very quick. Also, downloading an application will be fairly quick.
